Chicken With Four Cheeses

Chicken breasts are a very popular dish, both because of how easy it is to prepare and because of the different variables it presents. In recent times, chicken meat has become one of the most consumed in the world. In the first place, it has to do with an economic question; its price is usually lower than that of beef in many countries.

However, its benefits do not end there. Chicken is a lean meat with a high percentage of protein, which clearly contrasts with its low fat content. It is for this reason that many athletes, and also fans of the new fitness culture  have taken it as one of their favorites.

On the other hand, it should be noted that chicken is very easy to digest, and in turn provides enormous amounts of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients necessary for the proper functioning of the body. As for cholesterol, unlike other meats, its content is also low.

With all this, it is more than clear that it is extremely positive to know the different ways of consuming this food. Next, we show you two alternatives that you will surely love.

Option 1: Chicken with four cheeses

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts.
  • 1 large can of corn kernels.
  • 1 medium box of Philadelphia cream cheese.
  • Cream of corn (1 large can).
  • ½ kg of cheddar, mozzarella, sliced ​​white cheese and grated parmesan (the same amount of each).

For the bechamel

  • ½ liter of milk.
  • 2 tablespoons of wheat flour.
  • 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine.

Process

  • Cut the breasts into very fine fillets and cut them in half lengthwise.
  • Sauté them in a saucepan with butter and garlic, until golden brown.
  • Add the can of corn kernels and cream cheese.
  • Add the can of creamed corn to the béchamel (see separate preparation) and stir until a homogeneous mixture is left.
  • Preheat the oven from below to 350ºC.
  • Grease a baking dish with butter and place a layer of chicken on top, then a layer of cheddar cheese, one of mozzarella and one of white cheese.
  • Repeat the chicken and cheese layers again, until all the ingredients are used up.
  • Cover the last layer with béchamel sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes at 350ºC below.
  • Then, grill for 10 minutes.

How to make the bechamel

  • Cover the base of a pot with olive oil and heat over low heat.
  • Add two tablespoons of flour (if you are patient, sifted. If not, it can be done without sifting), while stirring with a wooden spoon.
  • When the flour has the consistency of a puree, but without becoming a paste, add the milk little by little and continue stirring for approximately 20 minutes.
  • It is important not to stop stirring at any time while making the bechamel.

Option 2: Chicken breasts with 4 cheeses

Ingredients

  • Chicken breasts.
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • ½ glass of water.
  • 1 glass of milk
  • ½ chicken broth tablet.
  • 1 tablespoon of onion.
  • Oregano.
  • 2 heaping tablespoons cream cheese.
  • 100 gr of gouda cheese.
  • 2 servings of cheeses.
  • 2 tablespoons grated pasta cheese.

Process

  • Chop and season the breasts.
  • Heat the oil in a deep frying pan (or saucepan).
  • Brown the breasts together with a little oregano.
  • In the same skillet or saucepan, bring the water, milk, onion soup and chicken stock cube to a boil. Caution: milk rises when it boils and may spill out of the container.
  • Add all the cheeses and stir over low heat, until completely melted. You can pass the mixer to help them mix better and the sauce is finer.
  • Put the chicken in the sauce and let it rest.
